Central Appalachian Cave Rescue Team
The Central Appalachian Cave Rescue Team is being developed as an on-call, well organized, trained, and equipped, all volunteer 501(c)(3) organization which will be dispatched in cooperation with the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM). Our response area is composed of Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and North Carolina contains well over seven thousand (7000) caves.
We are not operational yet..... but getting closer. A lot still has to be done and we are working on it hard. We would greatly appreciate your donation to make this dream a reality by Spring 2025 !
THANK YOU!
STEP INTO THE ARENA - APPLY NOW TO JOIN THE CENTRAL APPALACHIAN CAVE RESCUE TEAM (CACRT)
The CACRT is now accepting applications for new members. Besides highly skilled and motivated cavers who can carry out rescues underground, we also need surface and administrative support. This can include cavers who will help manage our records, our website, and our dispatching, as well as provide the logistic support to move equipment from cache to cave and back. We also need onsite personnel management and logistics support. But most importantly WE NEED MEMBERS WHO ARE WILLING AND ABLE TO HELP WITH TASKS NEEDED TO MAKE THE TEAM OPERATIONAL
If you are interested in HELPING, send an email with a summary of your caving/cave rescue experience, other related experiences, or other applicable skills, and the reasons why you want to join the Team to: membership@cacrt.com
